APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Aurora, IL looking to add a Project Engineer to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to assist the team in the conceptual design of buildings and ensure the successful completion of engineering projects. What your day will look like:
- Interface with internal and external clients, ensuring all work follows approved processes and standards.
- Define and manage tasks for analyzing and designing precast components with minimal senior guidance.
- Independently perform analysis, design, and document preparation in CAD/BIM formats.
- Conduct 3D finite element analysis with limited oversight and proactively raise concerns on structural issues and project scope.
- Manage staff time and tasks as a Task or Project Leader.
- Participate in activities to enhance engineering skills and attend relevant seminars/training.
- Contribute to the development of design templates, checklists, and standards.
- Assist VP Engineering with consultant billings, resource allocation, and staff utilization.
- Monitor project budgets to ensure adherence to targets.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering is required; Master’s degree is preferred
- Must be a Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in the state of Illinois.
- 7+ years of diverse project experience in building design
- Experience with precast and prestressed concrete design is a plus
- Expertise in 3D finite element analysis, diaphragm, snow, seismic, and wind design
- Proficient in engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, RAM, Risa, TEDDS)
- Advanced knowledge of precast plant issues, including casting, bed rules, and scheduling
- Experienced with precast erection issues and temporary bracing requirements
